Bottle Boys is a comedy which was produced by London Weekend Television and originally broadcast on ITV between 1984. The 2 series sitcom starred Robin Askwith as milkman Dave Deacon of Dawsons Dairies.
Series one comprised of 6 episodes followed by series two with 7 episodes. Whilst most scenes were filmed inside a studio, there were several scenes filmed on location. In this post we look at the Bottle Boys Filming Locations.
Here Comes The Groom
After having perhaps a few to many beers the night before Dave’s planned wedding with Sharon, Dave is escorted to back seat of Billy’s car so Billy can drive him home. However, having realised that he has left his coat in the pub, Billy pops back to the pub, during which time his car is stolen with Dave still in the back.
These scenes were filmed on Paradise Street on the outskirts of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, South London.

The Wedding
Later in the episode we see the congregation waiting for Dave to appear. Rotherhithe Civic Centre was used as the wedding venue, with The Little Crown pub opposite.

Mecca Bookmakers – I Gotta Horse
Having got lucky with the horses we see Dave and the gang head to the Bookmakers.

I Love Paris
In this epsiode Dave steps into a dream where he is about to face the Guillotine. The dream scenes were in fact not filmed in Paris but at Holland House, Kensington.

Still to find
I am still searching for the below locations which I expect to be in the vicinity of Bermondsey and Rotherhithe. If you can help with any of these please comment below or drop me a message.
Dawsons Dairies
Of course the main location is that used for the external shots of Dawsons Dairies seen in a few episodes. This was seen in a couple of episodes such as Out Of The Frying Pan and The Milk Cup Runneth Over.

Town Square – Out Of The Frying Pan
During this epsiode we see Dave dressed as a chick and later as a cow outside a cluster of shops, one being Lidstone Butchers which had a number of branches across London.

Milk Round – The Milk Cup Runneth Over
Dave is on a mission to finish his round by 10am to try and get some football tickets. Do you recognise these locations?

Here Comes The Groom
Following his drunken night, and falling asleep in the back of Billy’s car which was stollen, Dave finds himself on this housing estate. Quoted as being in Luton but much more likely to be in the Bermondsey and Rotherhithe area.

High Noon
Tension’s are heightened when the new housing estate is under threat from a domineering competitor.

Thank You
I hope you enjoyed this post. If you know of any of the locations still to find or of any other locations used for filming, please comment below.
